Hair Update

No photos because I can’t find my camera and my new phone is microsoft, so its stupid.

Issues I Noticed

- Tiny bits of breakage which means I have split ends.

- Long bits of breakage at the line of demarcation.

Possible Solutions

- Trim ends

- Oil scalp & moisturize hair daily

Products

- Biosil

- Hair trigger oil

Hair Trials

I’ve been washing my hair with sample shampoo & conditioners this week. Awful.

Trial 1

The shampoos are fine. Whatever. Not using again.

Conditioners feel amazing when hair is WET. Once dry, its like you never put anything in there. Even the deep conditioners.

Oils don’t make my hair feel soft. If my hair was longer, if I was straightening it, oils would be awesome. But I can’t use heavy oils anymore. I want my hair to feel soft.

Trail 2

I used a pre-poo. That was okay. Not worth buying, though.

Wash out as normal.

Applied aloe vera and oil, but it gave the same result as Trial 1. :/

What Now

I’m proud of myself for testing this out! Now, I can try something else KNOWING that these methods doesn’t work.

I’m going to try… Curly Girl Method.

HAIR & NAILS UPDATE
Great nail growth! I could never keep them this long before without them breaking off, feeling annoying, or my cuticles looking totally bad. I’ve been taking my vitamins semi-consistently and using Nail Tek II. I’m going to start adding this to my regime:
Nail Tek II (clear nail polish)
Vitamins
Omega 3,6,9
More water
I also checked out my hair growth over the past 3 years. This is what I’m going to try from now on based on things that were obviously working/not working:
Self-relax (so I can tex-lax, PH balance, yogurt treatment, & air dry)
No more tight styles for several weeks/months on end
Super consistent hair vitamins
Learn to style my hair myself
Why did it take me this long to realize that all the braids and weaves I wore to protect my hair were probably the things damaging it? My hair retained length when I took vitamins and did natural treatments to it. What will happen if I stop damaging it and up the ante on the good stuff?

Instyler is going on my christmas wishlist yall! This video convinced me.

No blow drying? No special flat ironing method? No passing through multiple times? Just your hair, heat protectant and the instyler? This is exactly what I’ve been looking for!!

LMAOO! Do not put a woman’s weave ON BLAST ON THE AIRRRR!!!

Anyway, good news. I got an interview offer for a tutoring company without having to boost up my gpa or SAT scores! No, this is not the $3,000/month job I am looking for, but I am looking to make income ASAP so this is great!!

I also decided I am going to make a blog an “after college” blog. Like, a real one with my OWN URL. Not a tumblr. I’m going to use wordpress and all that goodness. Why? Because I have been looking for something with a personal touch that would help me figure out life after college and there’s nothing out there. There’s help books and cliche web articles. So why not make some ad-revenue and online friends by having a blog that journals my search for a “fabulous lifestyle after college”? It’ll also give me a chance to create a fan-base of some sort for my e-book. More updates to come!

Hair Solution!

I used to wear satin caps from Walmart, wake up the next morning and wonder why my hair is dry as hell.

I bought a 100% Silk satin cap (satin refers to the WEAVE of the material) and this problem is no more!!

This Texas November is just awesome. Not need for the jacket, yet.
ANYWAY, MY HAIR
I’m SO TIRED because I stayed up MAJORLY detangling my hair. I removed my yarn braids and the build up was UNBELIEVABLE. I will say, there was very little breakage. The hair felt very healthy, even though it was dry (as it always is).
During my time with yarn braids, I spent the first month applying hair oils and stuff to the scalp, but I decided to counter balance it by washing my braids once a week. I started to realize that it didn’t seem like that helped since the debri cannot flow freely through my hair when rinsed, so I stopped doing that and used their oil-free spray instead, but I still had to suffer the consequences. And since its yarn, I’m sure that made it even easier to get matte.
My new growth is quite thick in the front but feels non-existent in the back (except for my nape which I do not relax). I slept with my new SILK satin cap which is really good. Using the normal caps they sell at walmart dried my hair OUT. My hair with the silk, though not feeling especially soft, still at least feels like I did take care of it last night, lol. I’m also creating a morning routine that will force my to drink water and take my vitamins so my hair will be able to retain moisture naturally.
